Vision of our new kitchen includes the following: stainless steel appliances, tile floor, white cabinets (w/ some open glass), tile backsplash, combo of butcher block and paperstone countertops. Paint colors and lighting are still being decided, but we are trying to make choices that fit with the style/era of the house (1920’s bungalow).
We spent many months looking for a house in a good neighborhood with lots of character. We ended up with a 1920’s bungalow with beautiful built-ins and picture molding. The previous owners lived in the house for 55 years and took great care both inside and out. We are having fun making the house our own while keeping the character. We’ve become attached to the mustard yellow countertops and funky wallpaper in the kitchen. I think once we begin to update we will be able to let go…
We enjoy hiking, biking and all outdoor activities. Our dog Dakota loves sun bathing in the backyard and greeting all the neighborhood dogs.
We are going to start saving by holding ourselves accountable for our spending. Too many months we wonder where did all the extra money disappear to??? We’ve starting looking around town and pricing out all of the materials that we will need. Fortunately, John is in the business and will be doing all the labor so we will save BIG in that department.
We have been thoroughly enjoying the farmers market on Saturday mornings. We stock up on all of our fruits & veggies for the week and have been trying out a bunch of new recipes.
