We have been thoroughly enjoying the farmers market on Saturday mornings. We stock up on all of our fruits & veggies for the week and have been trying out a bunch of new recipes. The farmers have had great advice on alternative ways to prepare vegetables. We've been saving a considerable amount of money AND we're buying delicious, local food!
As the end of the market draws near (is it really September??) we've been talking about joining the Portland Food Co-op so we can continue to get local food throughout the winter. Does anyone belong to the co-op or have any advice on how we can do this?
Lastly, our garden didn't get much attention this year as all of our extra time went into the house - BUT, are we the only ones who are just starting to get red tomatoes in early September? What are we doing wrong???
